Here is my review and taste notes for Deanston Virgin Oak which was one of the single malts presented at my scotch club last night.
Nose: Fruity, baked apples, lilacs in full bloom, an apple sauce river flowing along, rum and raisin ice cream and vanilla bean. Lavender essences and potpourri make a late grand entrance.
Palate: Spice, pineapple, fried bananas, mild mocha and hint of Swiss chocolate.
Finish: Lingering, sweet oak, spice n' fruit and whiffs of hot cocoa.
This "about" 10 year Highland single malt is a young whisky in new charred oak casks from Kentucky. It is actually quite delightful and is a like an excellent gymnast's routine,
delivers the goods as expected.
Rating: 88.5 _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I have had a couple of bottles of the Deanston Virgin Oak, no surprises with it, i would agree with your rating of it. |
