I was contacted by the President of the single malt scotch club I belong to with the list of the 3 whiskies for our last dinner and tasting later this month before the summer break.
Here is the list and I would appreciate any comments about these drams if you have tried them-
Deanston Virgin Oak 46.3%abv.
Benromach Chateau Cissac, 2006 vintage, 45%abv
Springbank 12 Year Green Wood, 46%abv, 9000 bottles worldwide _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Hi Murray another nice lineup. The Springbank 12 Green Wood is a subtle creamy sweet Springbank with a wee touch of smoke. The Deanston Virgin Oak is young and fun, just as the name suggests it is packed with virgin oak character. Havent tasted the Benromach Chateau Cissac but it is sure to have a big wine influence as it was finished in the wine casks for 20 months. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

Well, we had our last dinner and scotch tasting at the single malt scotch club that I belong to last night before the summer break. There were some surprises as you will see when you check-out my taste notes for the 3 single malts presented (see Taste Note section of the Forum). The evening as always was delightful with bagpipes, humor, a good crowd of members and guests, excellent food and conversation.
