Was wondering about your favorite Speyside whisky. I have been exploring other regions and have had limited exposure to Speyside.
I am really fond of the Balvenie 12 yr old single Barrel, Aberlour A'bunadh and the Glenfiddich 15yr old Solera.
What would you recommend as others to try? _________________ Mike |

| From balvenie try to get a sample or full bottle of 15 single barrel ( bourbon ) as well as sherry cask, other distilleries you must try are Glenfarclas, the 15 is very good, Glenrothes is worth a try, glenlivet nadura is a must in your journey, some mortlach expressions are fantastic, some are sulphured, there are some good benromachs out there, that's a few for you to be going on with 😀 |

Being the biggest region there are many distilleries to try, dont ignore the most well known such as the Glenlivet and Glenfiddich. A few whiskies i would recommend are:
Glenfiddich 15 and 18
Glenlivet 18
Glendronach 15 and 18
Benromach 10
Aberlour 16
anCnoc 12 and Cutter
Glen Grant 10 and 16
Glenfarclas 15 and 17
Cragganmore 12
Tomintoul 16
Macallan Amber |

A very good list Alastair. I would also include expressions from Imperial, Linkwood, Caperdonich and Glendullan, all of which I have enjoyed. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Given what you have enjoyed so far i think you will love what Glendronach and Glenfarclas has to offer by way of sherried malt whiskies, the 15 year old expression from each distillery is a good place to start.
Try the Glenfiddich 15 distillery edition, it is excellent.
Benromach 10 is superb.
Benriach 12 sherry wood or the peaty Benriach Curiositas 10 Year Old are very good. |

I picked up a 12 yr old Glenfarclas yesterday. My local shop did not have the 15 yr old.
Thanks for the recommendation. It's very nice and fits in well with others I have enjoyed.
Looking forward to trying many more of these recommendations. _________________ Mike |

Not had the 12, hope you enjoy it, let us know your thoughts after a couple of drams, the 15 in my opinion is prob best in range ( other than the 40 ) it just has that something over the others, I'm visiting the distillery in 2 weeks, can't wait, it's going to be expensive that day |
