With the prices of whisky going up and up I was thinking what are the better deals out there, not the "offers" but just the best " bang for your buck " stuff.... It does not have to be single malt or scotch ... What's your choices..
Mine are ...
Aberlour abunadh £40-45,
Glenlivet 12 £25, ( although it's going soon )
Supermarket own brands £20-25... Usually pretty good ...
Glen moray £20, |

+1 on the A'Bunadh, even at full price.
Glencadam 10yo, £30 and such a great flavour and craft package for an entry level single malt.
Ballantines Finest £16 and a good and versatile dram in any book.
Nikka whisky from the barrel, great whisky for the price, usually under £30.
Four Roses Small batch, always under £30 and a consistently good bourbon.
El Dorado 12yo rum, £30 and an outstanding level of quality.
......my magic figure tends to be £40. If I can get something great under that price then I'm a happy chap and money wise ill be getting good value. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

An interesting Forum thread Sorren. Here in Ontario, Canada I would personally say:
Danfield's Limited Edition 21 Years Old Whisky,750 ml bottle, $45.10 Canadian or (24.20 British pounds equivalent)
Ballantine's Finest Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
1750 mL bottle, $57.15 CDN or 30.66 BPS
Islay Mist Scotch 8 Years Old Scotch Whisky, 750ml bottle, $29.95 CDN or 16.07 BPS
Highland Park 10 Year, 750ml bottle, $59.95 CDN or 32.16 BPS _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I will add Glen Grant 10 year old and Finlaggan Old Reserve Islay Malt. Both usually a decent price. |

| Some great drams there, ive been to a few shops today and it shocks me how the price is going up and up, Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich both around £32-35 each, aberlour 10 about the same, all 3 used to be £20-25 not so long ago... And these are still entry level drams, good in their own rights... But over £30 ?? .. So finding a good dram at good prices is important... The only drams that have not really gone up were.. Glen moray £18-20 and own brands... And to add to the good price I thought the Woodford reserve was still a good price.. |
