The figures were published today for Scotch Whisky Exports in 2014, they show that the value of Scotch whisky exports were down 7% while the volume of exports was down 3% indicating a slight drop in the average price paid for a bottle of whisky but I doubt that many of you have noticed this drop.
Just a thought, perhaps the continous price increases over the past few years is now catching up to the whisky companies. The drinkers who have been priced out of buying what they would have normally have bought are perhaps starting to look elsewhere for alcoholic drinks. Perhaps the whisky companies greed is now starting to effect sales.
