Tasted this one at my single malt scotch club on Feb 3rd.
My taste notes-
Nose: Fruity explosion, mild spice, cantaloupe, toffee flakes and citrus ice wine with orange accents. Just a lovely nose here that jumps out at you. It really opens up over time, even enhancing the aforementioned aromas.
Taste: Citrus and exotic fruits, chocolate nougat, fading spice and mocha essences . Mouth-watering.
Finish: Dark chocolate, plum pudding and citrus sweet candy.
***This is a robust dram in my view which lets it all hang out in a good way. The 46% abv seems to be a real "sweet spot" here for this expression.
Rating: 90
General comment: This one for me was the star of the 3 drams I tasted at my single malt club this evening ( see my other 2 reviews on the Taste Notes section of the Forum). _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| Cheers for the notes, sounds good, i do enjoy a port finished whisky when the mood takes me. I will need to add the Tomatin 14 port finish to my list of whiskies to try. |

After the initial maturation, the whisky is then transferred to casks that previously contained port for a certain amount of time. In the case of this Tomatin I see it's spent one year in port pipes. |
