Value of Scotch Whisky Exports Down 7%

The figures were published today for Scotch Whisky Exports in 2014, they show that the value of Scotch whisky exports were down 7% while the volume of exports was down 3% indicating a slight drop in the average price paid for a bottle of whisky but I doubt that many of you have noticed this drop.

Interesting reading. I certainly havent noticed a price drop for anything i have been drinking.

Just a thought, perhaps the continous price increases over the past few years is now catching up to the whisky companies. The drinkers who have been priced out of buying what they would have normally have bought are perhaps starting to look elsewhere for alcoholic drinks. Perhaps the whisky companies greed is now starting to effect sales.

The shops in Arizona raised their single malt prices this past January & February.
