According to the World Whisky Awards, Tamdhu whisky not only looks good, it tastes good also. The awards which is run by the Whisky Magazine recently recognised Tamdhu as a whisky that's got it all in terms of taste and design with two major awards for its 10 Year Old Speyside Single Malt: Best Speyside Single Malt 12 Years & Under and Best Re-launch/Redesign for its iconic bottle.
I sampled the Tamdhu 10 year old when was relaunched by its new owners Ian Macleod Distillers and to be honest I was not very impressed with it at all, as I detected some poor sherry casks in the whisky so I have never been inspired to pick up a bottle. It certainly has an eye catching bottle design so I cant argue with that award but perhaps I need to give the whisky another try as going by the WWA award it sounds like things must have improved and there is always room for a decent sherried Speyside dram on the shelf.
