| Haven't tried anything by Springbank yet. The 10 is very affordable, and the 12 and 15 are very close in price. Can't buy them all. Must choose. Opinions? |

Had the Springbank 12 Cask Strength 55.3%abv in 2012. Quite a decent dram. I liked the fresh baked Kaiser roll and caramelized onion aromas on the nose and the citrus and mint on the palate. Long and warming on the finish. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| The Springbank 12 Cask Strength is excellent. Bear in mind that there might be slight variations between the batches, I've only had the one bottled at 52.3% - but either way it's a great full-bodied, assertive whisky. |

My pick of the lot is the 15, personally. If you are starting though it's.probably worth going the the standard 10 and trying the 15 another time as it's harder to go backwards. All Springbanks are hand made without colour chill filtration and there are batch variations; it's as close to "craft" scotch as you can really get and as such even the entry level whisky offers way more than the normal entry level stuff you see out there.
Campbeltown whisky is a bit odd, so be prepared. It may take some getting used to. It's salty, almost fishy sometimes and can be sour too.....think gooseberries. You need to spend some time with it to fully export the stuff. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

| I will add my vote for the Springbank 12 Cask Strength if you can get hold of it. |

| Thanks for the input. Springbank is hard to find in VA. but I am in Tenn. at the moment and am going to pick up the 10 yo tomorrow, and try it when I get home tomorrow night. Will post my thoughts. |

Springbank 10 year old!
Sitting on my back porch; lovely spring evening . . . smoking a delectable maduro . . . with a dram of Springbank 10. It was love at first taste.
Beautiful golden color, savoury nose, a little peat, caramel, lots of brine . . . maritime whiskey as I've finally learned to appreciate! I love it. So glad to have finally tried it.
This one will be in my cabinet from now on, along with some of my favorites.
Thank you for your input. |

| I do like the Springbank 10 but it will be a few months yet before we will have the weather to sit out side in the evening and enjoy a dram. |

Must apologize for calling this 'whiskey' (with an e). Hard for an American to
spell it otherwise, but should know better by now. Am thoroughly converted to Scotch Whisky from bourbon. |
