I tasted the new Glenlivet Founders Reserve tonight and liked it, easy to drink, creamier and more vanilla'd than the 12 and younger. A mate gave me a couple of pours earlier this evening. Would i buy a bottle? Probably will pick up a bottle.

I havent tried the new Glenlivet Founders Reserve yet but i will at some point. The Glenrothes Select Reserve i wouldnt recommend in fact Glenrothes in general has never impressed me, its a brand i give a miss now.

No... It's an ok whisky, it isn't mind blowing, but then it's not supposed to be, it's not offensive, I find Glenrothes whisky to be pretty good, it's like any whisky you either like it or you don't, the 1995 edition I found to be rather tasty, but the 1988 bottled in 2011 is rather special ( in my opinion ) it's worth a punt but I'd still buy the livit first..

I think of the Glenrothes Select Reserve as a whisky with a price that isnt justified by its quality, an ok whisky if found £20 - £25 price range but for the price you usually find it £30 - £35 there are better whiskies to choose. I would personally rate the Glenrothes Select Reserve 78/100

Gosh your hard to please 😀, I gave it 81/82 but then like I said its a ok whisky, I get what you mean about price but if you look around I think the other decent everyday whiskys are creeping up to that price tag £30-35... It's still worth a try though,
