Balvenie 21 portwood

Just wanted to know if this whisky is worth the asking price, all the balvenie that I've had have been pretty good so thought I'd go try this, what are your thoughts on this ?

No.

It's a lovely whisky, it's very....feminine (?), really is lovely. The prices of this have been too high for ages if you ask me, I got a bottle a few years back as I think it was about £90, and as much as I enjoyed it I wouldn't buy it at its current price.

As nice as it was it lacked any wow factor and was nothing more than very well put together scotch.

No Problem, hopefully more replies to.give you a more rounded view.

I bet the travel retail version is a lot more as you'd expect being higher proof, ncf and no colouring. I just found it lacking a bit and for the money I'd take the 15yo SB Bourbon barrel hands down.

Now that's a good dram, I bought a dozen bottles at £50 each before they got silly money, but at £125 for the portwood I wanted an opinion first

The Balvenie 21 is delicious, it is expensive. I would recommend looking out for the higher strength 47.6% travel retail version next time you travel if you fancy a bottle.

They may have discontinued the Balvenie 21 Portwood travel retail version as i havent seen it at the airport since they released the Balvenie Triple Cask range.
