Ok we seem to be in that season of "best bottle"..."best dram" .. So what about the "special bottle "
So the question is .. What special bottle would you buy within you top budget price range for that special occasion ,
My choice would be Glenfarclas 1971 family cask, for 2 reasons, it's my birth year ( sssshhh ) and its a fantastic whisky, |

I would go with-:
BRORA 30 YEAR OLD
9th Release Bot.2010
70cl / 54.3%
This release is noted for a special fruitiness which shines and is not overwhelmed by peat and smoke which lies beneath..
I've always been impressed with the positive thoughts of those single malt aficionados who rave about Brora. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I have my heart set on a bottle of Highland Park 40 to mark my 40th birthday in a couple of years, i have sampled it and it is superb. Not sure what way prices will go these days, have they peaked? Or should I buy now and store it for a couple of years? |

| I don't see prices going any other way than up for some time yet, I'd buy now and store, |

| Glenfarclas 1983 Release X, refill hogshead at 29 years old. Much paler than a standard Glenfarclas but the pine note on the palette is to die for. |
