Glenglassaugh has announced the launch of the extremely rare Glenglassaugh 51 Year Old single malt.

Master Distiller Billy Walker specially selected the whisky which he describes as rich and flavoursome, it was distilled and filled to Bourbon Cask No. 3301 back on February 15th 1963.

I imagine that one will go for a "pretty penny" William.

They didnt mention the price when they sent me the info on the new whisky. You will certainly need deep pockets but it may not be as expensive as some of the 50 plus whiskies around. The Glenglassaugh 41 is £1750, my guess would be around double that for the new Glenglassaugh 51 year old.

Unfortunately it's almost 3 times more expensive than 41yo - 5.000 GBP at Whisky Shop (a couple of hundreds cheaper in some other places, I can't remember where at the moment).
