anCnoc have announced a new anCnoc 18 year old expression. There will initially be 6000 bottles of the anCnoc 18 year old available worldwide.

Matured in a combination of hand picked Spanish oak ex-sherry casks and American oak ex-bourbon casks which anCnoc says has resulted in a single malt which is bursting with oriental spices and toasted vanilla, with a full bodied taste and a surge of honey and caramel to finish. Bottled as we like it, in its most natural form, non chill-filtered, natural colour at 46% ABV the new whisky has an RRP of £70.

Hi William. An interesting offering and not a bad price at all if it's a a quality 18 year old. Will you be getting a sample to review? The 12 and 16 year expressions are highly rated by some pundits so I expect this one should likely rate a nifty dram.

Sounds good. I like anCnoc, the 12 is a very good into whisky to their range and despite the 40% and filtering it carries a lot of flavour.

The 16 is very good so I will look forward to getting a bottle of this. Price seems ok to me too for an 18yo, and all the better for the lack of filtering, colouring and higher strength.

Not sure Murray, they have only just announced it. It should be good if they have selected some decent sherry casks to go into it. The anCnoc 22 year old is a decent whisky but has a little too much oak influence and would have been better if bottled sooner, hopefully this is that whisky.
