Here's a different one for you from the LCBO.
"This is comprised of 99% 11 Years Old Blair Athol Single Malt Scotch from a single cask, blended with 1% 12 Years Old Canadian Single Malt Whisky. The resulting marriage delivers a nose of pears and smoke with an intriguing suggestion of peppermint. The palate is full bodied and well rounded, offering nice complexity throughout the lengthy finish. Only 384 bottles produced".
Sounds interesting!

I wonder if the 1% Canadian single malt makes much difference to the Blair Athol or perhaps it was added to the Blair Athol to give it a Canadian connection to help sell it.
It does sound interesting and i would certainly give it a try if the price was right as i do like to try different distilleries and Blair Athol is one which i havent had much experience of.

It goes here for 48 British pounds equivalent.

The only official distillery bottling of Blair Athol i have had the pleasure of was the Blair Athol 12 year old Flora & Fauna bottling from a sherry cask which was a bit of a disappointment as it had a bit of a sulphur taint but that was most likely caused by the cask selection and not the whisky. I would assume from the LCBO's short description of the BLAT 11 year old it was not matured in a sherry cask. Interesting that they use the term "Pure Malt" the SWA banned the use of that term here a while back.
