"Master coppersmith Denis McBain, who has worked for the Balvenie Scotch whisky distillery since 1958, was in Toronto for Whisky Live, the annual whisky love-fest held at the Sheraton Centre last Saturday. Having maintained giant copper stills in northern Scotland for more than fifty years, he shared some insight into the evolution of the whisky business".

I have great respect for people in the whisky industry, especially for coppers, who are often overlooked in the whole production process.
Murray, did you have a chance to meet Mr. McBain or visit Whisky Live in Toronto? |

I was unable to get down to Toronto for the event. However, I expect to go to Spirit of Toronto in May which usually has excellent master classes. I just wish Spirit of Toronto was on for more than one evening considering travel and hotel costs. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
