Whisky Forum - Clynelish

I have been wanting to try out the Clynelish 14 year old whisky for some time now, and I have found it in a shop for around 40 euros. But at the same time I have found the Clynelish 15 year old Destiller's Edition for the same price. My question now is, if anyone have tried the Destiller's Edition and how it compares to the standard 14 year old?

To my taste the Clynelish 14 is far superior to the Clynelish Distillers Edition but it is simply a matter of personal taste. The distillers edition has been double matured in Oloroso Seco casks which obviously adds some fruity notes to the whisky, it is nice enough but i prefer the standard 14 year old.

The Clynelish Distllers Edition isnt one of the better bottlings in Diageos Distillers Edition bottlings, i agree with Keith the standard Clynelish 14 is the better whisky.

I agree with the others above the Clynelish 14 year old is the one to go for.
