I really like port cask matured (or finished) whiskies but will never pay 65-70 GBP for three year old bottle.

I am sure it will be interesting to try and all the Kilchoman i have tried has been young and i had no complaints so far. Port and Peat can be a good mix but £69 for a 3 year old and i would say Kilchoman releases may be a little past being collectable now. Shouldnt we be starting to see appropriately priced whisky coming out of Kilchoman now.

In my area Machir Bay retails for about 54.99 USD, that is a fine price. _________________ The Laga 16.

Not impressed with the price but i will probably get a bottle anyway if i hear it is worth a go. Still surprised Kilchoman didnt give this another 2 or 3 years in the cask.

I taste dthe new Kilchoman Port Casked Matured yesterday, a big fruity experience on the nose and this is joined by lovely sweet drying smoke on the palate, a lovely balance of peat & port, this is young, this is fun and very very enjoyable. I added my review here:

They choose their price points and it sells very well .... sadly. I agree Bookie that Kilch is hugely pricey for it's age, but it is very good. The likelihood of them reducing prices is about the same as Diageo releasing the 15th Port Ellen (in the trilogy..) for less than two grand.
