| Just seen half a dozen bottles of the old style Tobermory 10 yr old 40% in my local Coop. Ironically the new one is there as well on offer at £25, but the old one is £35! Wonder how they turned up there? |

| I come across an old round dumpy bottle of the Highland Park 12 in a Coop a couple of years ago and that was replaced by the current bottle quite some time ago now. I bought a bottle thinking i would sell it on but curiosity got the better of me and i opened it to compare it to the current bottle and i found the old bottling slightly more peaty. |

| Probably collecting dust in a storeroom for years. The new Tobermory is a big improvement on the old 40% bottle. |

I know, bought one for £19.99 in Booths last year, it' taste ok but a strange farmyard nose was the main problem for me. |

| Agreed, though Tobermory certainly has 'character'! And I think Ledaig is actually quite good, still has a 'farmy' nose but in a heavily peated context it works. |

I never really liked Tobermory old or new bottling but i thought the new Ledaig 10 was a fantastic improvement on the old Ledaig .
Apparently the Tobermory 15 is supposed to be worth a try due to some good sherry influence but i havent had the pleasure. They could do with sticking some Ledaig in a good sherry cask as i think it good work well for this malt. |

I only stumbled across the Tobermory 15 recently. I don't know that much about it, but the local "Scotch Guru" at the liquor superstore said this year is the best Tobermory since the 70s. Basically, if I understood correctly, he said that there were some owners who were neglectful, but the latest owner has been picking casks by hand and this years Tobermory 15 is the first fruit of that attention. He said he actually prefers it over MacCallan 18.
I've never tried any other Tobermory, but this Tobermory 15 seems on a par with anything else I've tried. I'd describe it as a Highland Park 18 with a Sherry finish that tastes like Maple Syrup. |

| Tobermory have had a rather up and down past but Burn Stewart the current owners have really improved things with a decent cask selection program and they have used some very good olorosso sherry casks for the Tobermory 15 and i can highly recommend giving it a go. |
