Strike action by hundreds of lorry drivers could disrupt the distribution of whisky supplies in the run up to Christmas.
Workers at two haulage companies are planning to stage a one-day walkout on 26 November in disputes over pay. The firms distribute whisky across Scotland and northern England.
Union representatives from McPherson of Aberlour and Carntyne Transport said they had decided to strike on the same day to maximise disruption.
But the T&G Unite union said it was prepared to negotiate with employers.
Regional officer Tommy Campbell said the union had offered to work with the conciliation body ACAS.
He said: "We want the company to recognise that these drivers have been underpaid for a significant number of years. This company is making significant profits, we are wanting them to share those profits.
"However, we're quite prepared, and we have advised ACAS already, to meet under the auspices in order to try and avoid the dispute."
Drivers at McPherson's voted overwhelmingly in favour of a walk out.
Carntyne staff are also implementing an overtime ban.
Both firms distribute whisky and spirits across Scotland and the north of England.
Have you stocked up for Christmas yet?
