1994 Distilled Dalwhinnie - Please HELP

Hey everyone

I hope someone could help me locate a special dram, even if it is a little costly it would mean the world to me.

Someone very close to me will be no longer making our whisky and the first ever distillery he worked on and took to production was Dalwhinnie, back in 1994.
I would love to buy him a Dalwhinnie that was distilled that year, it doesnt matter how long it was aged (it could have just sat on a shelf for a number of years bottled) - so long as it was distilled in 1994.

Does anyone have any idea where I could find it?

Yikes, you may struggle with this one.


Dalwhinnie do a vintage bottling as part of Diageos Distillers Edition range annually, there is a 1992 and 1995 but no 1994. I suspect that didn't bottle one.

Indie bottlines of Dalwhinnie are few and far between, but this may be your best bet. I'm not aware of any though.....

The other option, and probably the easiest, is to contact the distillery and ask them. They may have a "draw a bottle from the cask" option and you can see if you can get hold of a 1994 if you're up that way.

Apart from the the Managers Choice from 1992, the Managers Dram from 1998, Dalwhinnie 1966 36 year old Special Release in 2002 and the Dalwhinnie 25 year old Special Release in 2012 the only other Dalwhinnie bottlings which i am aware of which carried the year of distiltation was the Distillers Edition bottlings but they didnt have a 1994 bottling as opelfruit says.

As for independent bottlings i havent come across a indie bottling of the Dalwhinnie that was distilled after the the 1970's.

I have never come across any Dalwhinnie from 1994, you may get lucky at the distillery as opelfruit suggests but that is a long shot.
