help needed please.
i know nothing about the following,
1,linkwood 12 year old bottled by m McEwan of leith.in fluid ounces at 70 percent.
2,dalmore 12,whyte and mackay,marked in fluid ounces and 75.7 cls,70 percent.
3,dufftown glenlivet 8 year old.70 per cent in fluid ounces.
i think the linkwood may be from the late fifties.white label marked ,over 12 year old pure linkwood scotch whisky ,highland malt.
the glenlivet from the seventies, has a red, gold and black label.distilled and bottled by arthur bell and son.
the dalmore has a black and gold label marked 12 year old dalmore pure malt scotch whisky, produce of scotland,,dalmore distillery, whyte and mackay distillery ltd.scotland.
i have seen and touched these bottles and nothing seems untoward about them.
can anyone help please

John McEwan & Co used to have a couple of well known blends, Chequeer's and its main brand Abbot's Choice. They were formerly a subsidiary of DCL then United Distillers and held the licence for the Linkwood distillery until 1992. It does sound like it will be a 1950s or 60s bottling.

Dalmore owners Mackenzie Brothers Ltd merged with Whyte & Mackay in 1960 to form Dalmore-Whyte & Mackay Ltd. Sounds very much like a 1970s bottling you are talking about.

The Dufftown Glenlivet 8 year old sounds like a 1970s bottle also perhaps 1960s.

Old 1970s/1980s bottles of the Dalmore 12 can be found at auction for £100-£150 much more from whisky shops.
