Just got information from BenRiach distillery that they have completed the bottling of their Batch 11 single casks few days ago. They will start start sending stock out next week, first to UK retailers and then to various importers.
I hope that prices for "younger"? bottles (20-25 yo) will stay relatively low as older expression from GlenDronach and BenRiach S.C. editions are slowly but surely going out of my price range. |

Oh yummers, always look foward to these....and me too. I got a rather nice 1993 SC GlenDronach PX 18 months back and it was about £60. This years is £90.....
I hope they do some younger Virgin Oak ones again, nice supprise from the last one I had and it wasn't bad on the price point either. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Today BenRiach has finally officially announced their new Batch 11 of its single cask bottlings (14 casks, ranging from 37 to 9 years old).
I will probably get only two from casks #1703 (1994, 20 yo) and #7176 (1996, 18 yo). Older stuff from 70's is just too expensive for me (and both casks from 80's are peated).
All 14 of them are here:
1976 cask # 529 / 37 years old / Bourbon Barrel / Sherry Cask Matured, Bourbon Finish / 44.2% vol.
1976 cask # 5463 / 37 years old / Bourbon Barrel / Peated, Sherry Cask Matured, Bourbon Finish / 51.9% vol.
1977 cask # 7114 / 37 years old / Hogshead / 48.3%vol.
1977 cask # 1891 / 37 years old / Dark Rum Barrel / Dark Rum Finish / 43.2% vol.
1978 cask # 5469 / 36 years old / Bourbon Barrel / Sherry Cask Matured, Bourbon Finish / 41.7% vol.
1984 cask # 488 / 29 years old / Hogshead / Peated / 51.1% vol.
1984 cask # 4051 / 29 years old / Tawny Port Hogshead / Peated, Tawny Port Finish / 50.3% vol.
1994 cask # 1703 / 20 years old / Tawny Port Hogshead / Tawny Port Finish / 55.6% vol.
1994 cask # 5626 / 20 years old / Madeira Hogshead / Peated, Madeira Finish / 53.2% vol.
1996 cask # 7176 / 18 years old / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Finish / 52.4% vol.
1997 cask # 4435 / 16 years old / Marsala Hogshead / Marsala finish / 56.1% vol.
1998 cask # 5171 / 16 years old / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon / Triple Distilled, Pedro Ximenez Sherry finish / 57.9% vol.
2000 cask # 38131 / 14 years old / Bourbon Barrel / 59.3% vol.
2005 cask # 3781 / 9 years old / Virgin American Oak Hogshead / Peated, Virgin American Oak finish / 58.7% vol. |

I think that Cask #182044 (UK exclusive) in not a part of Batch 11 single cask bottlings. It's just one of many "normal"? UK editions. |

As Blackadder points out it is amongst the July outturn of Benriach single cask bottlings. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

A week ago TWE introduced bottles from two new BenRiach casks at the same time: cask #182044 and #7176, both declared as UK exclusive. First one is actually UK exclusive bottling which should be officially launched next week (but was released from TWE prematurely).
Bottle from cask #7176 was wrongly labeled as UK exclusive and is now corrected.
Both bottles are inactive on TWE website from today (probably until next week). |

TWE only listed the UK Excl. Benriach 1995 18 Year Old Bourbon Barrel Cask No 182044 on Aug 12th along with the Benriach 1996 18 Year Old PX Sherry Finish Cask No 7176. I noticed as i was thinking of adding the sherry finished 7176 to an order.
Now i have saw the list the BenRiach 1998 cask no. 5171 16 year old Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon, Triple Distilled, Pedro Ximenez Sherry finish is tempting. |
