So i was browsing facebook and saw this

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154059813390657&set=pcb.10154059819100657&type=1&relevant_count=3

Who else is excited and depressed because they know it will be sold out in no time to collectors only. It sounds excellent and makes me really want a dram of Ardbeg 10 right now.

I can't view the page, but if it's about the May 31st release of the world cup themed Ardbeg then I'm all a bit underwhelmed. Not looking forward to it as much as last years Ardbog, but I'll no doubt get a couple.

It won't all go to collectors, you just need to be quick that's all. This isn't a commitee release.

Last year the website went down and sold out 2 hours later. But you can still get them elsewhere from other shops.

In the states, and often in California we get stuff late. I doubt any stores nearby will have a bottle for sale.

I will get proper info on the new bottling

The Ardbeg Distillery is on top form this season with the debut of Ardbeg Auriverdes - named after its golden whisky (auri), and unmistakable green bottle (verde). Launching on Ardbeg Day (31st May), the newest bottling in the line up is a product of the skill and passion the Ardbeg team is famous for. The talented newcomer is rumoured to be a bit of hot head, on account of its toasted cask lids. However, Manager Mickey Heads is confident that its creamy vanilla sweetness will tame its darker mocha side.

review and tasting notes.

No doubt a rise on last year so probably going for £85-£90 I would wager.....lets see.

I look forward to it, Ardbeg is one of my favorite distilleries next to Glenmorangie.

Ok, so it looks like they'll be retailing it for £79.99, that's the same price as last years Ardbog.

Good on you LVMH, still a little steep but thanks for not taking the *** too much Very Happy

They gave away a few gold coloured bottles of this to journos and bloggers. As I understand it, the whisky is the same, only the colour of the bottle differs from the product which will be made available to all in a green bottle on 31/05/14.

Anyway, it would appear that someone has decided to flog their freebie on SWA as opposed to supping it and then writing about it.

So.... If you can't wait, and are prepared to pay just a tad over the £79.99 RRP feel free to bid on this one. If you're mental...... Laughing

Bidding is currently at a mere £1250.

I could have bought a dozen bottles at £79, but didn't buy one.

To be honest, I wouldn't get one at £50.

They're just overpriced, overhyped NAS offerings, which aren't that special (either to drink or as investments).

These Ardbeg releases are generally not too hard to get in the US at around $100 (60 quid).
Some are even worth it.
