Visiting Islay next Sunday and have booked Bowmores Craftsmans tour. Anyone who can tell me what awaits me? Anyone been on the tour recently?
I was also wondering how good their on-site store is? Any gems in there? Is it possible to purchase personalißed bottles or hand filled?
Questions, questions. I hope a few of you can give me some answers

The Bowmore Craftsmans Tour is very good, you get a close up and hands on experience and get to sample some whisky straight from the cask and you get to taste a range of Bowmore expressions in the tasting room up to 25 years, i could have changed since i done it but i doubt it. I wasnt sure when i booked it and wondered whether i would have been better off spending the tour fee on anoyjer bottle to take home but in the end i thought it was worth the money and was pleased i done the tour.

You could contact the distillery in advance and ask if they have any special bottlings, limited editions etc available in the distillery shop. I would guess they may have some Feis Ile bottlings.

The Bowmores Craftsmans tour is very good and you should get to taste something special. As Crane says you can contact the distillery and they will be able to tell you what special bottlings they currently have in the distillery shop.
