I came across this bottle while on a drive to Burlington Ontario about 45 minutes drive from my home. It is a limited Edition blended scotch to commemorate the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. There is no indication of a specific distiller in Scotland but mentions it is bottled by Schwarze & Schlichte Markenvertreib GmbH & Co. KG, a German independent bottler I expect. It was imported to Canada by Peter Mielzynski Agencies Limited.. Blended and matured in Scotland. It sells here for $49.00 Canadian. They had 2 left after i bought mine.
The LCBO rep who sold it to me found the following description on file as:
Medium amber colour; aromas of orange citrus, vanilla toffee and cedary herbal notes; flavours of soft oak spice, vanilla and citrus.
The cleated soccer boot bottle is quite cool.
Is anyone familiar with this one? Any guess as to which malts are in this one? The LCBO rep at the store mentioned it also has a finish of salted potato chips. She had no info that could answer my specific questions as to what exactly is in it.
Also, we don't know yet who will be the winner of the Golden Shoe/Boot for World Cup 2014 so this bottle will forever be associated with whoever the winner comes to be.
P.S. I just found a Dutch note online by a Belgian importer about this bottle which I translated using Google Translate regarding this expression and it suggested some similarities to William Lawson's expressions (which I am not familiar with).
**This bottler is also associated with Racke Rauchzart/Speyside. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Schwarze & Schlichte Markenvertreib GmbH & Co. KG is indeed a German independent bottler, they bottle many premium spirits including vodka, brandy/cognac, rum, liqueurs, Schnapps and one bottle of Scotch blended whisky which i know of named Racke Rauchzart which they describe as:
| Quote: | | harmonious combination of delicate grains and smoky malts from Scotland plus a careful storage in small oak barrels still give it its mild - typically "smoky-tender" - character. |
I have never seen it here in Scotland. They also offer a American Bourbon whiskey. They dont bottle Scotch single malts, well at least not to my knowledge.
The Golden Shoe 2014 sounds interesting but i dont have any info on the whiskies that would have gone in to it but it does sound different to their Racke Rauchzart blend. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
