I have just seen the price of this -

http://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/the-glenlivet/the-glenlivet-conglass-single-cask-edition-whisky/

Are Glenlivet actually naming it 'Con-glass' well its seems like a massive Con sitting in some glass to me!!

£200 for a 14 year old single cask whisky, what planet have we arrived on now with pricing! I'm sorry for the rant but how on earth can a 14 year old whisky be considered nothing more than a rip off at £200! Ridiculous!!

This is the first i have heard of this, was this the Spirit of Speyside festival release? or is this just a new single cask. I agree, crazy pricing but i am sure there are plenty who will pay.

The spirt of speyside whisky bottling was called Auchbreck.

I was looking at getting something from MOM and saw it. The Speyside Festival bottle was called Auchbreck I think so this must be another new release, I wonder what the next release after this will be? The 'rip-off' or the 'we are charging twice as much as it's worth cos we can'. But £200 for 14 year old whisky? Just getting a bit silly price wise for me to drink too much in the way of none standard whisky.

I just wonder if it was the Speyside Festival bottling they had got hold of and had ramped up the price. It really is crazy pricing for a 14 year old but also shows the way the whisky market is going.

Alternatively by a £69 return on the eurostar and visit "la grand epicerie" where they have their own single cask ("yesterday") of 15 yr old for €90 ....

Insane pricing - just like whisky shop one and the Frankfurt airport one.

If this is the way pricing is going, perhaps its time i sold my collection and started drinking standard whisky (while I can still afford those)
