|
|
I came across some catchy famous quotes about our favorite drink. Here a few quotes and who spoke them:
"I love to sing, and I love to drink scotch. Most people would rather hear me drink Scotch." - George Burns, American comedian
"Set up another case bartender! The best thing for a case of nerves is a case of Scotch!" - W.C. Fields, American comedian and actor
"Whenever someone asks me if I want water with my Scotch, I say I'm thirsty, not dirty." - Joe E. Lewis, American comedian
"I should never have switched from Scotch to martini's." - actor Humphrey Bogart's last words
"There are two things a Highlander likes naked, and one of them is malt whisky." - Scottish proverb
"I've been on the whisky diet - I've already lost three days!"? - British comic Tommy

And of course there's also 'The king o'drinks, as I conceive it, Talisker, Isla, or Glenlivet' by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Come to think of it, at the time he wrote that, he would've meant any whisky from the Glenlivet region that calls itself Glenlivet, as opposed to 'the' Glenlivet of today. |

A great idea for a topic Murray, it will be interesting to see what quotes about Scotch and Whisky it throughs up.
Here is a couple from a couple of fellows who were known to enjoy a whisky or two.
Working is the curse of the drinking classes. - Oscar Wilde.
I just had 19 shots of whisky, I think its a record. - The last words of poet and writer Dylan Thomas. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
