My single malt scotch club announced the list of the three featured single malts for our dinner and tasting at the beginning of April.
They are:
Arran Millenium Casks 13 YO 53.5% abv
Adelphi Caol Ila 9 YO 59.6% abv
Cooper's Choice Bunnahabhain 2001 10 YO 46% abv ( I wonder if this is actually the 9 YO).
Anyone try any of these? Most interested in your comments. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

The Arran Distillers Millennium Casks is a vatting of mainly bourbon and some sherry casks, a good balance of vanilla and fruit.

I've not tried them but I'd be most interested in the 9yo CI. I love a young in yer face Islay and at cask strength to boot

Murray, if the Coopers Choice Bunnahabhain 2001 10 is the one i had it is from a sherry cask it was peppery, spicy and fruity, just a touch of smoke. A decent expression of Bunna, I enoyed it.

I'm off to my single malt scotch club's dinner and tasting tonight and am looking forward to trying these 3 expressions. The dinner is as usual a multi-course meal. I think I'll go with the breaded yellow perch entree choice. The fish are commercially caught from Lake Erie in Ontario here. I'll post my taste notes on the scotches tomorrow.

One day I will take part in something like this, and enjoy every minute of it. _________________ The Laga 16.
