The global market for non-Scotch whisk(e)y has continued to swell significantly over the past eight years, according to a new joint just-drinks/IWSR report with Non-Scotch whiskies in aggregate representing an enormous and growing category, with Irish whiskey in particular showing real momentum.

Most interesting William. The other day on TV here in Ontario, they had a fellow presenting
a segment on whisky and the expressions were all Irish. Fits with your characterization. Part of it likely was associated with St. Patrick's Day but the presenter did talk about the increase in sales of these expressions in general. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I have heard this mentioned a few times lately that Irish whiskey sales are soaring although they are still very much dwarfed by Scotch sales. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
