Their latest auction started today.

Just wondering if anyone has their eye on a bottle?

Just a thought, if anyone was watching a bottle at auction they would probably be unlikely to say until the auction was over, well at least i wouldnt say and draw attention to what i was after.

Without saying exactly what I am watching, I have picked up some absolute bargains for everyday drinking whiskies, although you have to be careful of the commission, post & packing I will generally stock up and pick them in person to cut down on the postage,

I know that is quite different to lot of people who will perhaps pick up a rarer special bottle to buy.

Remember Albo the commission, if you do pay a tenner then the £1 commission will not make it worth while. Very Happy Very Happy

You could be correct. I'm sure there's plenty people looking at lots of different bottles. Personally I'm looking at some of the bruichladdich's but won't pay over the odds for them. Wink

Yeah, I have a friend in Glasgow that picks them up for me. Otherwise I would buy some of the bottles due to the shipping costs.

How much (ball park) do you generally have to pay on top of the hammer price?

Unfortunately we do not have whisky auctions in Ontario and I'm not aware of any in Canada as a whole.

10% plus vat on top of the hammer price if I remember correctly.
