Old Parr was Britains oldest man. Apparently he lived for 152 years and at the age of 122 he married for the second time. He is buried in Westminster Abbey, London. The whisky was named after him.
I would hazard a guess and say your bottle was from the 1960s possibly 1970s. Unfortunately these are not worth a lot of money, here is a example from mctears whisky auction:

They do usually fetch more than £25 at auction, i am sure i have seen them go for £50 - £60 at auction in the past. Just depends on the bidders on the day. |

| In the UK up until 1980 the bottle size was 26 2/3 flozs, they changed to 750ml in 1980 so that would place your bottle before 1980. In those days labels sometimes didnt change that often but i would agree with Keith, i would age it as being bottled around the 1960s/1970s, whatever decade it is wont really make much difference to its value. If you decide to put it to auction, by the time you pay auction and postage or transpotation costs you wont make a great deal on this. If your friend is a whisky drinker then i would suggest opening it and getting a taste of whisky history. |

| On a side note, I get the Old Parr 12 here for only $30, and I find it to be a terrific value for a blend, superior to other blended Scotch I've tried in the same price range, e.g., Ballantine's 12, Dewar's 12, Chivas 12, primarily for a superior finish. |
