|
|
Tonight at 6pm Ontario time is the live TV broadcast of Superbowl XLVIII from New York. The Superbowl two years ago generated a record of 111 million viewers. The game will be broadcast to 198 countries in 25 languages. The 2 teams vying for the championship tonight are the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. I expect that a lot of scotch will be consumed in many homes around the world before, during and after the game. I'll have a few peaty drams during the game. I'm rooting for the Broncos and the quarterback Peyton Manning. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Murray, I understand you're a connoisseur of the game. I apprehend Manning is one of the all-time great QBs statistically but needs a second Superbowl to cement his legacy (and equal his brother Eli). Is this why you're rooting for him and the Broncos?
And how do you rate their chances, I hear the Seahawks defence is pretty brutal? _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

22-0. Turnover on the restart! Disastrous.
Edit: No fumble called! Big let off. _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

Someone explain why the Broncos didn't kick then? At least it gets them within 3 scores going into HT where are now they are going to need 4 scores in the 2nd half.

Clock runs only when ball in play. Resetting line of scrimage with players takes time between plays. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Yes, I thought it would get him in the Hall of Fame, a win. A win not likely to happen based on the play in the first half-all Seatle 22-0. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Yes, Seattle as a team are playing in accelerated mode and the Broncos are playing as if in slow motion. A blow-out so far. Who would have "thunk it"?. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

In hindsight, they should have gone for the 3 point field goal but they wanted to end the half with 7 points, touchdown and convert. Ended up with diddly squat. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
