Easy question, I pulled an Islay from the top 3 I know of either because of the reputation they have I am looking at you Kilchoman Machir Bay, experience with the brand Ardbeg they have earned my loyalty or Bruichladdie being impressive and quality orientated.
Simply put I am torn
Port Charolette 10 heavily peated
Ardbeg Uigeadail
Kilchoman Machir Bay
I have 2 weeks till next pay check so let the whisky death match begin. Also they are all around $75.99 after tax and shipping. _________________ The Laga 16.

Last time I tried Ugi it was unfortunately a little sulphured. I haven't tried the OB Port Charlotte but if it's it anything like those the SMWS released for a while I'd probably go with that. _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

GBrough, i added the Port Charolette 10 heavily peated option to your poll, it didnt effect my voting though, the Ardbeg UIgeadail gets my vote. I would actually prefer the Port Charolette The Peat Project over the 10 year old but given the choice i would still choose the UIgeadail over the the PC's and same for the the Kilchoman which is turning out to be a great single malt as it matures but still not quite in the league of the Uigeadail. At the end of the day they are all excellent and worth trying and there will be more pay cheques |

All great drams but if you havent yet tried the Uigeadail and you like sherried malts and you like peaty smoky malts then this is the best of both and bottled at a decent strength all of which would make me choose it over the other 2.

It is more than just a little annoying when sulphur finds it way into the more expensive single malts, it really shouldnt happen. |

GBrough, I agree all great drams and all must tries at some point. I wouldnt say any one is better than the other, they are all great drams simply different and i am sure you wont be disappointed with any of them. Having said that the Ardbeg Uigeadail would be my choice, the added strength and sherry influence to the classic Ardbeg peat smoke makes it an outstanding dram for me. _________________ There's no bad whisky.
