Interesting new way of deciding who can buy your latest limited release whisky! Put your email address in and if your lucky they will let you buy a Â£325 bottle of whisky.

Good luck to anyone entering the lottery where you don't actually win anything, although to be fair I do like the potential fairness of this idea.

It is fair but my god Â£325 is a steep price to pay!

Interestingly enough if you enter the lottery you are under no obligation to buy if you win. I wonder if this will spark a flood of entries and then the possible selling of winning tickets??????

I think it is a great idea, being a big player globally it must be a nightmare for them. For the Bowmore Devil's Cask they had 11000 people try to buy in three minutes Shocked

This is probably a very fair move by TWE as i believe the demand for this will be way more thjan the availability.

Very reasonable lol.

In fact, about the same as the SMWS asked for TWO bottles of 22yo "Karuizawa" (ie 132.2)

How much do you think a OB 29yr old Port Ellen Single Cask would go for? As low as Â£325? ha.

How about anything else of that age, officially released single cask, from a closed distillery?

Lest we also not forget the maturity rates of Japanese whisky, so this is more like a 40yr bottle of Speyside.

What if Balvenie did a 40yo OB single cask.....£325? Geez thats how much their normal 30yo is

All things considered, it's very reasonable.

(NB: I don't endorse the silly bloody prices of whisky, nor shall I be even attempting to buy one of these. I buy to drink and i don't really like this juice - I'm just making a point).

As I say comparable prices irs fair enough but all things considered this doesn't stop this being too expensive.

Also Glenfarclas 40 is Â£250ish.

Did anyone enter the 'lottery'? If yes, were you successful.

Personally, I preferred to spend my money on the the Scotch Malt Whisky Society expressions. True, they weren't as old. But they were quite a bit cheaper.
