The maker of France's first single malt whisky could be facing legal action for labelling its dram Scottish.
Whisky bosses are unhappy over the Bercloux drinks company's claim that its single malt, using raw whisky imported from Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire, but matured in the Poitou-Charentes region of western France, is a Scotch whisky.
The Scotch Whisky Association insists the whisky cannot be labelled Scottish if it has been matured in France, and breaks strict rules set up to protect the industry.
Brasserie Bercloux has declined to comment on the issue.
