Good evening all,
Went thru Aberdeen airport today and saw what was descibed to me by the sales lady as a new release. The only details were 'Bowmore 1984 Vintage' matured in No. 1 vaults and priced at £750. A bit steep for me for drinking but can't find any details on the internet or this forum. Is it similar to the 1985 travel retail exclusive of earlier this year at £500?
This is purely an interest thing as I don't think I'll be buying one but just can't find any information about it anywhere.
Regards

Rob, I believe it is the 1984 VINTAGE - 29 years old - 48.7%vol. Information about this one is very scant.

(on link go to top of page and click on the 1984 date). _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I havent heard anything about it but i would guess it is the next release in the Bowmore 1980's vintage series, which i believe has been very popular to date and sells quickly when released.

The Bowmore Vintage series seems popular from what I have read about the previous releases and looking at the 1985 version on the internet the packaging seems the same as what I saw today. My understanding is the last release was £500 so £750 seems quite a jump in price for Bowmore's latest offering.

The 1980s bottlings did seem to sell out very quickly, unfotunately the the price rise isnt surprising with the way other prices are going in todays market.
