Had my first pour today of Canadian Club Premium which Jim Murray rates at 92. This Canadian whisky has come a long way and recently has been touted as a real quality expression.
Here are my taste notes from today.
Color- Light Amber
Body-Medium to Full
Neat-
Nose: Lime peel, tart marmelade, Grandma's fresh apple -cinnamon pie cooling on the porch, hint of cream soda and lurking vanilla essences.
Palate: Creamy, sweet, white chocolate, purple grapes and an incoming tide of spice.
Finish: Lingering, spice and mint memories.
***Rye, malt, barley and corn dance together in rhythmic excellence. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Luckily Jim Murray seems to spend some time each year in Canada so i think the Candadian whiskys that are not known overseas will be heading there soon thanks to Jim. |
