As part of Glenfiddich's continued support for the military charity Walking With The Wounded Glenfiddich has bottled a special limited release whisky named Glenfiddich Spirit Of A Nation, a rare 29 year old whisky released to celebrate Glenfiddich's sponsorship of the UK team in the Walking with the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge.
Just 250 bottles of Spirit of a Nation have been produced, with 200 being released for sale from specialist whisky shops with a RRP of £1,000 per bottle.

| Did anyone win the jackpot? Would be good to have a forum millionaire sharing the wealth via whisky. |

| Given it is Glenfiddich, its age, it is a very limited release and the whole story behind it then yes IMO i would say this could be a good investment. |

Mike,
It's currently for sale in the 'whisky shop' if a member you can get it for £900 with the 10% discount. Although it costs £12.50 a year but if not a member your still £87.50 better off before taking VAT off. If had a spare £900 I'd buy this, I'm by no means an expert but I would think it should be a sound long term investment. |

I was given a 20% one off discount card, so I decided to use it on this bottle, collecting it on Sunday as I will be in Glasgow anyway.
Merry xmas to me |

it'd be nice to have £800+ lying around to spend. If I did I'm not sure I'd buy a bottle of this with it though.
That's not to say it's not a good investment. But I do think we are nearing the peek of this whisky bubble and I'm not sure this bottle justifys the cost if it's a drinking malt. |

| I reckon you will always at least get your money back on a iconic brand such as the Glenfiddich and this is a little more unique and older than most Glenfiddich limited releases so it dont think you could go wrong with this. The only thing is the resale market will be more limited in this price range so you may not double your money like you can do with a Glenfiddich which cost a few hundred. |

I agree with others i think over time this will prove to be a good buy as a investment.
I wonder how much the bottle they bring back from the south pole will fetch? Whatever it is, it is sure to make the news and probably add to the value of the other bottles. |

Does that go through your business to get the vat back? If so how do you do it? Pm me if you don't want to make it public. _________________ Putting the func in dysfunctional. |

Hi,
thanks for all your views and thoughts... much appreciated...
Being resident on the beautiful island of Jersey in the Channel Islands allows me to import goods free of VAT (as the island do not know VAT). |
