Hi William. Actually, I am a fan of Dalmore expressions and I'm sure the 25 year will be excellent. The price tag is really high reducing the probability that most folks will be able to purchase it though it would be great to try a sample some time.

I would love to try this myself Murray, as you say the price tag is the stumbling block, it is a big jump in price from the 18 year old which i wasnt too impressed with. Some of the Dalmore vintages have been superb such as the 1981 Matusalem and Amorosso Sherry Finesse. In my experience older Dalmore can be excellent but not always the case there have been a few exceptions. If i ever get the chance to sample the new Dalmore 25 i will certainly let you know what i think of it. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

The price does seem to be a little on the steep side.
Though we should be used to that these days I'd say. |

... Meanwhile you can get a 40 year-old Glenfarclas for almost a third of that price. I hope we don't get too used to the Dalmore prices any time soon! |

£600 for a core 25 year old? I guess the main purchasers of this won't be in the UK, but their mark up on this must be significant. I know it's not an exact science but does Dalmore really 'spend' six times more than Glenfarclas producing this whisky? If they do maybe they need some production advice from George Grant!
What would you rather have 6 bottles of Glenfarclas 25's or one of these? Ridiculous! There must be markets out there for this product but I just can't see past the crazy price.
If you were lucky enough to win a £600 voucher for Master of Malt etc imagine what else you could get for that kind of money. |
