There could be some price breaks coming for Canadians for single malt scotch.

"Under the accord " officially known as the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) " Ontario will move to a per-bottle tariff instead of the existing "ad valorum"? tax based on the price of the booze.
That should make everything from single malt Scotch to first-growth Bordeaux cheaper for Ontario consumers".

Murray that does sound like good news for you, hopefully it will bring down the the price of the premium malts to a more drinkable price.

Good stuff Murray! However in practical terms does this mean your budget will stretch further, you'll have some spare cash or you'll start drinking even more refined malts? Confused

I'm definitely with the budget stretching further Olie with the refined malts being less expensive.
