Here are my taste notes for Jura 1996 15 Yr Bourbon Bottl. Boutique Barrel cask strength at 56.5 abv.
Neat-
Nose: Spice infused with honey and prunes, blood oranges, apple n' spice, orange peel, peppermint, caramels and toffee.
Palate: Massive spice and heat, pepper and old shoe leather after a shine. Mouth-watering.
Finish: Long, reverberating spice with a hint of menthol and camphor notes.
A few drops of water does mellow but only a bit. I think this one would take a little getting used to and not for the neophyte single malt aficionado. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| Jim Murray didnt rate the Jora Boutique Barrel 1996 very highly, he scored it 76, it put me off trying it and your review confirms i made the right choice. |
