Jura 1996 15 Yr Bourbon Bottl. Boutique Barrel

Here are my taste notes for Jura 1996 15 Yr Bourbon Bottl. Boutique Barrel cask strength at 56.5 abv.

Neat-

Nose: Spice infused with honey and prunes, blood oranges, apple n' spice, orange peel, peppermint, caramels and toffee.

Palate: Massive spice and heat, pepper and old shoe leather after a shine. Mouth-watering.

Finish: Long, reverberating spice with a hint of menthol and camphor notes.

A few drops of water does mellow but only a bit. I think this one would take a little getting used to and not for the neophyte single malt aficionado.

Jim Murray didnt rate the Jora Boutique Barrel 1996 very highly, he scored it 76, it put me off trying it and your review confirms i made the right choice.
