I think malts of distiction could be a new zealand company.
The macallan was distilled in 89 and bottled in 2002, 45.7 abv.
I think the vendemia refers to the winecasks.
This bottle is one of only 144 so i would think its quite scarce.
Thats all i can find out and sorry if any of the above is incorrect. |

Macallan 1989 Vendemia Malts of Distinction was bottled by Morrison Fairlie Distillery Company Stirling in 2002, bottled at 51.4% ABV and limited to 144 bottles.
I believe Vendemia refers to the cask the whisky was matured in which was a olorosso sherry butt, so i would expect it to be a big sherried Macallan. I cant comment on the whisky as i havent tasted it but i have seen this selling at auction in the past year for around £55
Not sure if there is a connection with this bottle and the New Zealand spirits importer Malts Of Distinction, at least no connection that i am aware of. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

Yes william you are correct.
The bottle i saw on the internet was bottled in 2001 i think and was of a lower abv.
I have had a look at the bottle in question and what you have said is correct.
It has "veijo vino de xeres pasado" written on it.
Wonder what it tastes like? |
