I was a bit surprised about number of "younger"? bottlings in this batch. There is only one cask older than 22 years this time.

It's possible that GlenDronach is running out of older stock as well?

Perhaps, or maybe an attempt to get premium prices for younger whisky. I would certainly be interested in knowing the price on the GlenDronach 2002 10 year old.

Probably around 60 GBP (similar as 10yo PX single cask from 2012).

Hopefully it is a bit less than £60. I noticed that TWE have a Glendronach 1995 17 Year Old PX Puncheon 56.6% which is exclusive to themselves for £70, i think i would consider that first if it was only £10 more

I hope that is cheaper as well but WhiskyBase is still selling last year's release of 10yo for Netherlands (cask 2022) for 62.50 EUR. UK shops will probably be cheaper but not much.

Some whisky shops have already got their share of GlenDronach Batch 8. Pricing is similar to last year edition - very affordable regarding the quality.

New prices for Batch 8 at one of the biggest shops in UK (in continental EU you can expect at least 20% higher):
1971 cask # 1246 / 42 years old / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon / 44.6%vol - £498.95
1990 cask # 2971 / 22 years old / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon / 50.8%vol - £87.34
1991 cask # 5409 / 21 years old / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon / 49.8%vol - £81.62
1992 cask # 145 / 21 years old / Oloroso Sherry Butt / 58.1%vol - £83.67
1993 cask # 3 / 20 years old / Oloroso Sherry Butt / 52.9%vol - £76.21
1994 cask # 101 / 19 years old / Oloroso Sherry Butt / 58.4%vol - £72.73
1996 cask # 1490 / 17 years old / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon / 53.1%vol - £63.21
2002 cask # 1988 / 10 years old / Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon / 55.6%vol - £41.83

I would really like to compare this 42yo - £499 with recently released 44yo (Recherch?) - £2745.
Apples and oranges or just another "inspiring" move from marketing people in the whisky industry?

You can still find few at The Whisky Barrel but for sure they will get them shortly in others shops as well.
