My Taste notes for The Macallan Gold 40%abv 750ml

Here are my first taste notes for The Macallan Gold which recently became available at the LCBO in Ontario Canada.

Neat-

Nose: Grapey, ripe peach fuzz, vanilla. pungent orange peel, melon note, faint honey, hint of sherried fruit and citrus crossing with butterscotch.

Palate: Demerara sweet, dark chocolate, hint of cinnamon, pleasant mild espresso, mouth-watering, background citrus notes and ginger.

Finish: Long, dark chocolate, mild spices and a pleasant maltiness.

Actually, I quite like this expression. The nose certainly has a lot to offer and the transition to the palate is both expressive and appealing. The finish is well-balanced and satisfying like having a very fine cognac after a delightful meal.
