Welcome to the SMW forum Russell, that is a very nice collection of whiskies you have.
Not sure what info you are looking for on the Highland Park 1958 but here is the official description of It:
Highland Park 1958
Highland Park 1958, Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Distillery Bottling of 70cl at 44% abv.
The Highland Park 1958 was a very limited edition of 665 bottles of 40 Year Old Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
The 1958 was presented in a wooden presentation box which also contains a unique hand-blown, hand engraved Caithness Glass Decanter depicting the stone circle at the Ring of Brodgar on Orkney, with a solid glass stopper featuring the "H" and a specially commissioned hardback book celebrating both Whisky and Orkney.
All four items are numbered (e.g. 1 of 665) and Jim Robertson, Highland Park's previous Distillery Manager, has personally signed each book.
Official Tasting Note:
Colour: Deep orange colour.
Nose: Sweet tobacco aroma. Scenty. Sandalwood. Walnuts.
Taste: Tastes of Sultanas, lemons, vanilla, butterscotch, toasted almonds. Very restrained sweetness.
Finish: Long and soothing finish. Late hint of spicy, heathery smoke to provide a balancing dryness.
In a whisky shop today i think you you would expect to pay around £2400. Recently at Mctears auction a Highland Park 1958 sold for £1200

Hi Russell. Welcome to the Forum. You have a really nice and aged expression collection of single malts with some real stars. The Highland Park 1958 sounds a real gem. How many of the ones on your list are opened? Which ones do you prefer? Best wishes from Canada. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

It was no problem Russell, its good to have you here. Thats a fine collection of whisky you have, I hope you were lucky enough to buy them all at the release prices as you would have to pay quite a bit for a few of them today. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Good to have you here Russell and as others have said that is a nice collection you have accumulated for yourself. I am enjoying retirement also and have been enjoying drinking and collecting (mainly for future drinking) for many years.
I have had a few of the bottles you have listed, got them when they were released, such as the Ardbeg 30 but it is long gone. It is getting harder to open some of the older bottles in the collection these days given the way prices have gone, i have never known a period like the last 8 to 10 years as far is malt whisky goes, there is an enormous choice of single malts now but with the huge surge in popularity we have seen a huge surge in prices so what i would have considered everyday dramming whisky 10 years ago is fastly becoming more of more of a special occasion whisky.
Enjoy your time here, i have found it a great source of whisky info, whether it new whiskies or what is good and what is not so good.

| Welcome Russell. You got me curious about the Highland Park 1958, if bought at auction it does seem a good price compared to newer releases of Highland Park of around the same age of 40 years and in my experience Highland Park is one of those distilleries that really does age well. |

Ah the Saint Mag rare malts - a wonderful, wonderful whisky. I've seen it once or twice at on-line auctions in the last few years. _________________ Talisker 18 - the rest are just details |
