Here are my taste notes from today for this brilliant dram.

Neat-

Nose: Rum n' raisin, pleasant slightly toasted butterscotch, honey and smores, slight melon note with fresh pecans and sherry n' dark fruit.

Palate: Spice, creamy, oak, warming, intense, awareness of the 60%abv in the depth of pepper and spice.

Finish: Long, spice, oak, sea salt flashes and bulrushes.

*** A few drops of water opens the butterscotch further along with an exploding aroma of rum and raisin ice cream on the nose. The palate regals in spicy marmalade and finishes with heightened pepper and a sherry kiss.

As I said in the "what are you dramming section" earlier: "This is not grandma's drink. Goes well with our cold Canadian weather like a pat on the back by a rocky mountain grizzly. Hit me again.... "

The Glenfarclas 105 is a favourite of mine when i am in the mood for a big hitting sherried malt.

I need to spoil myself some day and get a bottle of the Glenfarclas 105 20 year old and i would love to know how the Glenfarclas 105 40 year old is still 60% ABV after being in the barrel for 40 years.
