Here are my taste notes from today for this brilliant dram.
Neat-
Nose: Rum n' raisin, pleasant slightly toasted butterscotch, honey and smores, slight melon note with fresh pecans and sherry n' dark fruit.
Palate: Spice, creamy, oak, warming, intense, awareness of the 60%abv in the depth of pepper and spice.
Finish: Long, spice, oak, sea salt flashes and bulrushes.
*** A few drops of water opens the butterscotch further along with an exploding aroma of rum and raisin ice cream on the nose. The palate regals in spicy marmalade and finishes with heightened pepper and a sherry kiss.
As I said in the "what are you dramming section" earlier: "This is not grandma's drink. Goes well with our cold Canadian weather like a pat on the back by a rocky mountain grizzly. Hit me again....
