Here are my taste notes for my very first pour of The Famous Special Edition Jubilee Reserve:
Neat-
Nose: Wood soaked in nectar, vanilla, fruity, honey, citrus, cream soda, touch of rum raisin and hint of caramel.
Palate: Syrupy, fruity, spice, mint, smokey chocolate, walnuts, cherry blossoms and mocha coffee.
Finish: Lingering, spice, creamy, hint of fine leather, very smooth and French vanilla coffee.
****A few drops of water bring up licorice, dark chocolate and pepper notes on the palate and dark toffee on the finish.
It's interesting that Jim Murray in the 2013 Whisky Bible speaks of sulphur notes here. I didn't really pick this up at all in my bottle.
The Famous Jubilee here shows Macallan and Highland Park of some age I would say. Mint notes often are an indication of age too. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
