Midleton Distillery has announced the release of not one but TEN exclusive Single Pot Still Single Cask Whiskeys.
Following the success of the first Midleton Single Pot Still single cask whiskey bottled exclusively for the Celtic Whisky Shop in Dublin, in November 2010, which saw the retailer sell out of its limited bottle, Middleton have bottled 10 more single cask whiskeys exclusively for whisky specialist shops in Ireland, France, Germany and the UK.
The whiskeys are:
Midleton Cask #48750 Exclusive To The Whisky Exchange
Midleton Cask #7102 Exclusive To La Maison du Whisky
Midleton Cask #53735 Exclusive To La Maison du Whisky
Midleton Cask #31689 Exclusive To Celtic Whiskey Shop Dublin
Midleton Cask #1044 Exclusive To Dublin Airport
Midleton Cask #1045 Exclusive To Dublin Airport
Midleton Cask #1046 Exclusive To Dublin Airport
Midleton Cask #56279 Exclusive To Irisch Lifestyle
Midleton Cask #40833 Exclusive To Irisch Lifestyle
Midleton Cask #40219 Exclusive To James Fox, Dublin
Each bottling has been matured in ex-bourbon casks, true to the Midleton style, which have been charred and seasoned with bourbon. The individual casks, which were laid down between 1991 and 1999, have yielded, on average, 185 bottles - so not only will it be very drinkable but the new range should be highly collectable.
The oldest of the releases, Cask #48750 was selected by The Whisky Exchange Cask #48750 is described as a profusion of tropical fruit flavours on a luxurious bed of creamy vanilla.
